The Vilcek Foundation is currently hosting a call for applications for two prizes: The Vilcek Prizes for Creative Promise in Visual Arts, and The Vilcek Prizes for Creative Promise in Curatorial Work.
The foundation will award three prizes of $50,000 in each category to early-career immigrant professionals in 2025. Eligible candidates are encouraged to apply for a Vilcek Prize for Creative Promise by June 10, 2024.
The Vilcek Prizes for Creative Promise in Visual Arts
Candidates will be selected for work that demonstrates exceptional creativity, a unique perspective, and professional promise. Artists working in the following areas of practice are encouraged to apply: painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, printmaking, ceramic, textile, digital art, film/video, installation, and performance.
The Vilcek Prizes for Creative Promise in Curatorial Work
Candidates must have 5 years of professional experience having organized and developed single artist or group exhibitions with museums, galleries, public or private institutions, corporate collections, private collections, art fairs or annual exhibitions, or in any other professional or independent practice.
Eligibility Requirements: To be eligible for a Vilcek Prize for Creative Promise in Visual Arts or Curatorial Work, applicants must have been born outside of the United States to non-American parents, and must be living and working in the United States. Candidates must have been born on or after January 1, 1986.
